After reading some inspiration from VK Renovations, I’ve gathered trends and ideas on turning your bathroom into a serene spa-style retreat and I thought it would be fun to brainstorm what would work for our homes.

First up: comfort and indulgence. Heated floors, frameless glass showers, rain showerheads, even hydrotherapy tubs or in-home steam showers are becoming much more common. Imagine stepping into warmth and soft mist rather than cold tiles. Would you go for a glass walk-in shower, or would you prefer a large soaking tub to unwind in?

Then there’s the push toward designing a spa-like retreat natural, calming design using materials like wood, stone, or warm earth tones, plus bringing in greenery. These biophilic elements help make the space feel like a sanctuary. Do you like bold stone textures, or more subtle wood accents with lots of plants?

Another big aspect: smart and sustainable fixtures. Low-flow faucets, motion sensor lighting/faucets, LED ambient lighting, and mixed-metal finishes are being paired together to balance functionality with style. How much tech is just nice vs necessary in your view?

Lastly, color and light play huge roles—soft pastel palettes, contrasting fixtures (like matte black or gold), sculptural lighting to set mood. Would you prefer calming pastel hues, or deep jewel tones with dramatic contrast?

What trends are you drawn to the most when imagining a spa like bathroom? Have you already done something similar, and what lessons did you learn?
